What Services does Declare Yourself offer for Mobile? Declare Yourself offers numerous mobile services dedicated to their audience. You can participate in polls, get 2008 election specific information or enter a sweepstakes. Look around our pages for more information about voting in your area at www.declareyourself.com. Declare Yourself also offers mobile alerts and more. To join the club, just send a text message with the word VOTE to 80801.

How do I send a text Message? All phones have different menu options and buttons and you should consult your user manual for specific instructions for your phone. Generally, however, by going to the MESSAGES option, selecting TEXT MESSAGE and then choosing NEW MESSAGE/WRITE MESSAGE your phone will open a new text message. In the message area use the keypad to type in the keyword associated with the mobile service you would like (you may have to press the numeric key more then once to display the letter you would like to type). In the area where it asks for the phone number type in the 5 digit short code 80801,and press SEND/SELECT. If you are still unsure please see your phone’s user manual for instructions on text messaging.

What is a Short Code? A short code is like a phone number; however it is easily recognizable and 5 digits – Declare Yourself short code is 80801.

What is a Keyword? The Keyword is the word you send in your text message that identifies the service your message goes to. Look around our mobile pages for promotions with keywords or to join the club, just send a text message with the word VOTE to 80801.

What happens after I have sent the keyword to the Short code? After you have successfully sent the keyword to the short code you will receive a message back about the service you are trying to use. It usually it takes less than a minute. However, sometimes there are delays on the network and it can take several hours to receive a confirmation back.

What if I do not receive a confirmation message? If you are sure you sent the correct keyword, it can be that it is delayed at the network. Network congestion and bandwidth will sometimes slow the sending/receiving of text messages. Also, it could be your cell phone carrier is not one that participates in Declare Yourself text services. The participating carriers are Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile®, Sprint, Alltel, Cellular One, Virgin, US Cellular, Nextel and Boost. However, if it has been over 24 hours since you have sent your message and you have not received a confirmation text message you can contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 1-888-782-2180 for technical assistance.

Does my phone carrier support 2 way text messaging? Most phone carriers in the United States support text messaging. The participating carriers for Declare Yourself TV text services are Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile®, Sprint, Alltel, Cellular One, Virgin, US Cellular, Nextel and Boost.

Does my phone support 2 way text messaging? Most new phones support 2 way text messaging. Consult your user manual for specifics on your handset.

Is there a fee to send/receive a text message from Declare Yourself? For Declare Yourself text services standard text message rates apply. Please check your plan with your phone company to know the exact rate for sending a text message.

How do I opt-out? You can opt-out by sending a text message with the keyword STOP to 80801.

Initiative Period October 28, 2007– November 27, 2008

Election Alert Notification Group Your initial text message should be the keyword VOTE to 80801. You will receive a reply message with instructions on how to confirm your participation. You will receive immediate information about registering and voting, as well as occasional text or other reminders related to participation in the electoral process.

Participant Requirements You must have a wireless device of your own capable of 2-way messaging, be using a participating wireless carrier, and be a wireless service subscriber with text messaging service. Not all cellular phone providers carry the necessary service to participate. Check your phone capabilities for specific text messaging instructions.

Participant Opt-Out or Help You may opt-out from participating at any time by sending any of the following words to 80801: STOP, QUIT, END, UNSUBSCRIBE or CANCEL. Notices

Costs: You will be charged the standard text messaging fee charged by your wireless carrier for each message you send or receive, in accordance with the terms of your cellular subscription plan. Other carrier-specific rates may apply, depending on your individual wireless pricing plan, in accordance with your wireless customer agreement. You are responsible for all applicable taxes. Consult your wireless service provider regarding their pricing plans.

Participating Wireless Carriers: Alltel, AT&T Mobility, Cellular One, Nextel, Cricket, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and Virgin Mobile.

The service is offered on an “as-is” basis and may not be available in all areas at all times and may not continue to work in the event of product, software, coverage or other changes made by your wireless carrier.

Releases; No Warranties; Reservations
By participating, you agree to release and hold harmless Declare Yourself, Telescope and Participating Wireless Carriers ("Released Parties") and their respective representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors, from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with this Initiative, and for any claims based on violation of law or infringement or violation of any rights of any person or entity, including, without limitation, violation of publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy. Released Parties are not responsible for any printing, typographical, mechanical or other errors in associated promotional materials in connection with this Initiative. Participating Wireless Carriers and/or each of their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, shareholders, officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees are not responsible for this Initiative, and none of them will have any liability or responsibility for any claim arising in connection with participation in this Initiative.

The Released Parties make no warranties, and hereby disclaim any and all warranties, express or implied, concerning any prize furnished by third parties in connection with this Initiative. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND THE RELEASED PARTIES HEREBY DISCLAIM ALL SUCH WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSES AND/OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Released Parties are not responsible for technical, hardware, software, electronic, network, telephone or other communications malfunctions, errors or failures of any kind, errors in transmission, traffic congestion, lost or unavailable network connections, telephone connections, wireless phone connections, web site, Internet, or ISP availability, unauthorized human intervention, traffic congestion, incomplete or inaccurate capture of entry information (regardless of cause) or failed, incomplete, garbled, jumbled or delayed transmissions which may limit or restrict your ability to send a message, including any injury or damage to your or any other person's wireless device relating to or resulting from participating in this Initiative.

Declare Yourself reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend or suspend this Initiative for any reason without notice, including, without limitation, virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control, including, without limitation, anything that affects the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of this Initiative.
