DOI Road Trip

DOI Road Trip

In 2000, producer Norman Lear acquired a Dunlap broadside of the Declaration of Independence (DOI) with the goal of bringing the "People's Document" directly to Americans. The DOI Road Trip was founded to engage all Americans, particularly young people, in civic life by bringing the Declaration to their town, campus or city. The DOI Road Trip evolved into Declare Yourself, the national nonpartisan, nonprofit campaign to register every eligible 18-year-old in America to vote in the 2004, 2006 and 2008 national elections.
